The apartment is the most reserved part of the Vatican palace.
It was painted by Pinturicchio for Pope Alessandro VI Borgia (1492-1503).
When Alessandro VI died the apartments, despite Pinturicchio, were neglected.
Only at the end of 1800 they were re-opened to the public.
Nowadays most of the rooms of the Borgia apartment show the COLLECTION OF MODERN RELIGIOUS ART. The collection includes about 600 works. Among the main artists: Gauguin, Chagall, Klee e Kandinskij.
